Survivor Support Days

A day created just for you — a safe space to heal, connect, and feel renewed.

At RISE, we believe every survivor deserves more than safety — you deserve dignity, confidence, and joy. Survivor Support Days are not crisis services. Instead, they are restorative experiences designed to nurture your spirit, build community, and remind you that you are not alone.

What You Can Expect

Each Survivor Support Day offers a mix of empowering activities and moments of rest. Our events are free, trauma-informed, and hosted in a safe, welcoming environment.

  • Self-Care Kits: Thoughtfully curated items you can take home to support your healing and remind you of your worth.

  • Wellness Workshops: Yoga, meditation, art therapy, or movement practices to calm your nervous system and release stress.

  • Confidence-Building: Self-defense workshops, journaling, and personal development sessions.

  • Community & Connection: Time to share with other survivors who understand your journey.

How This Helps

Survivor Support Days are more than a “day out.” Survivors tell us they leave feeling:

  • More confident and cared for

  • Reconnected to their sense of self

  • Supported by a new circle of peers

  • Inspired with tools they can use in everyday life

“I know it might seem silly, but when I feel more put together, I feel stronger. And when I feel stronger, I can show up for myself in a new way.”

Safety & Care

Your emotional safety is our top priority. Every event is led by trauma-informed facilitators who understand the impact of abuse. You’ll never be asked to share your story unless you want to. Quiet spaces are always available if you need a moment of rest.

Who It’s For

  • Anyone who has experienced domestic violence, trauma, sexual violence, human trafficking or abuse

  • Survivors at any stage of their healing journey

  • Adults of all ages and backgrounds — you are welcome here

No cost. No judgment. Just a day to restore you.

The Chrysalis Project:

From One Day to a Movement

In 2024, The Great Hairstreak Salon created something extraordinary—The Chrysalis Project, a dedicated day where survivors of domestic violence received transformative makeovers that honored their dignity and celebrated their strength. It wasn't just about the hair, makeup, or nails; it was about survivors seeing themselves differently, feeling seen, and experiencing care without judgment.

The response was profound. Now, in partnership with Kenneth's Salons + Day Spas, RISE is expanding The Chrysalis Project in 2025—offering not just a single day, but ongoing support and resources that meet survivors throughout their healing journey.

"I know it might seem silly because it's just hair but when I feel more put together, I'm more confident and people take me more seriously."
